Will I ever work again?

I am 40 and have been unemployed since 12/2007. I apply everyday, mostly to receive rejections or no response at all. I have experience in a few fields, have a masters, experience in many software programs, even speak Spanish! Yet all too often I am bypassed for even an interview.
